I take great pleasure in the working relationship that develops between client and craftsman. I am proud of the feedback I have garnered over the years, and that I have many long-standing professional friendships as a result of the integrity and enthusiasm I bring to my work.
Jim involves his clients at every stage of a project, from initial conceptualization and design to installation. Client satisfaction is top priority.
"Jim is a fine designer and craftsman. He works well with clients and goes the extra mile to make people happy. For example, Jim designed and built all the kitchen, bath and other cabinetry for a client of ours with severe chemical sensitivity. Every aspect from the wood, glue and finishes was carefully specified and provided. I highly recommend Jim for your project."

"…it is a delight to find a craftsman who cares so much about what he does, listens so well, is so honest in his dealings, and creates such fine cabinetry. Your work was meticulous, on time, and extremely beautiful."

"We appreciate your efforts in shipping the bed to us. We are absolutely delighted with the bed. It met our expectations from the picture in American Bungalow Magazine and then some! It’s truly a work of art and blends in beautifully with our home."
Cheryl & Eric Mauer
"The room (library) is magnificent, and you should be very proud of your work in there. Both Stephan (architect Stephan Greene) and the boys from Ambiance want pictures, so perhaps you can all get together and hire the same photographer. We’re still planning a huge party for you guys when things are finished."
Jim Hunter
"Raoul and I cannot thank you enough for the beautiful table you made for us. We were just stunned by the beauty of the workmanship and the grace of the table and chairs. It couldn’t be more perfect. Thank you so much for all your work and care, we couldn't be happier."
Dorothy and Raoul Meyers

“I hold Jim Picardi and the work he does in the highest regard. Jim is an artist who helped me design a media cabinet to fit in with the original style of my antique home, creating moldings to match the original after giving a lot of thought to what would be just right. The finished product is outstanding, and I will absolutely hire Jim again if I have another project... I might create one just to be able to have more of his incredible work in my home!”
Kirsten Sclater-Booth
“Jim's craftsmanship is exceptional. I am very happy with my gorgeous kitchen cabinets fit for a 1902 house that required many "creative work-arounds." I am happy to provide pictures or show in person upon request.”
Mary New
"I thoroughly enjoyed working with Jim. His craftsmanship is excellent, and his input into the design was superb and added just the touch that made the finished look outstanding!"

"When the front door of our 1792 colonial farmhouse had reached the point where it absolutely needed to be replaced we were very concerned with finding a suitable replacement. We had been putting this off way too long, not knowing where to turn. Friends of ours in the designing field recommended Jim – stating that he is a meticulous craftsman of the highest quality. Indeed, he is…we couldn’t be happier! The door Jim handcrafted is the identical twin to the original, just what we wanted. During the creation process Jim thoughtfully kept us updated with photos of the progress. This was very reassuring. We are looking forward to working with Jim on future projects and highly recommend him to anyone seeking the highest craftsmanship."
Cynthia & Al Hinkley
"Jim Picardi is a true craftsman and a completely honest, straightforward person. From the initial design phase to the installation of our kitchen and bathroom cabinets, he was quick to respond to us, thoughtfully answered questions, and was committed to making sure that we were satisfied with every detail. He is a patient listener and worked hard to achieve exactly the style we wanted. He gave us good advice on special hardware, and he finished on schedule. The cabinets he produced exceeded our expectations. In the kitchen, the cabinets just look amazing and really "make the room." In short, Jim's work is worth every penny."

"Polly and I have been more than pleased with Jim's work on three projects he's done for us through the last twelve years. In addition to his fine craftsmanship, we have been particularly impressed with his research. We gave him only a bare outline of what we wanted to achieve for a black walnut hutch and paneling, and he took the trouble to make certain the details of each piece were good looking and consistent with the period look we wanted to achieve. His design help on our kitchen project resulted in a layout which was superior to our original concept. We are pleased to recommend Jim to anyone looking to have similar projects done."
G.W. - Athol, MA
"I have worked with Jim on a number of projects over the years. Jim consistently provides high quality craftsmanship and a very personal professional demeanor to every project he's involved with."

From the Daily Hampshire Gazette's Home Magazine
When Jim Picardi, a cabinetmaker from Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, teamed up with the owners of this Florence, Massachusetts home, their vision of a perfect kitchen came to life.
The three collaborated on a project to convert a depressingly dark kitchen into a richly warm and inviting space influenced by the style of Greene and Greene.
The homeowners were eager to have the kitchen reflect the overall warmth of their home. They hired Picardi, whom they knew was drawn to the arts and crafts style, both for its basic visual appeal and its functionality.
Picardi, who learned his craft in part from his father (a master builder), met several times with the couple, assessing how best to meet their needs and integrate all the basic appliances, counter space and cabinetry into a smooth design --- in a relatively small space.
" I think it's a tribute to Jim in terms of his ability to organize, facilitate and lead us through the process. I see his craft as much broader than what's evident by looking at the completed artwork."
" It takes more than a good design, quality materials and conscientious construction, she says. It takes "people skills," too. Jim encouraged us to be collaborative and that worked very well for us. The kitchen has a glorious flow to it. It's rich and tasteful with a soothing wholeness that's as much a feeling as it is a visual thing."
"It's very visceral," Picardi concurs. "As much as architecture needs to be intellectual and technical, there's an element of emotion and humanness that can still be instilled. But it's difficult to find that without keeping it on an intimate scale ---- of people working together and creating a vision." |
